District Collector and District Election Officer Pavankumar G. Giriyappanavar released the draft electoral rolls for Coimbatore district on Friday (December 19, 2025) as part of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) 2026.
The total number of voters in the district has declined from 32,25,198 as on October 27, 2025, to 25,74,608 in the draft rolls published on Friday. Of the current electorate, 12,43,282 are men, 13,30,807 are women, and 519 belong to the third gender.
A total of 6,50,590 voters (20.17%) were removed during the electoral roll revision. The deletions include 3,99,159 voters identified as permanently migrated, 1,19,489 deceased persons, 1,08,360 voters listed as missing or not traceable at their addresses, 23,202 duplicate entries, and 380 cases under other categories.

The number of polling stations in Coimbatore district has increased from 3,117 to 3,563, following the creation of 446 new polling stations. The revision exercise involved 3,117 Booth Level Officers, supported by 316 supervisors, 4,537 volunteers, and 8,750 booth-level agents.
Tiruppur district
In Tiruppur district, District Collector and District Election Officer Manish S. Narnaware released the draft electoral rolls. The revision exercise resulted in the deletion of 5,63,785 voters, taking the total electorate to 18,81,144 in the draft rolls.
Among the eight Assembly Constituencies in the district, Palladam has the highest number of voters at 3,06,290, followed by Tiruppur (North) with 2,96,011 voters and Avinashi (Reserved) with 2,40,742 voters. Udumalpet has 2,20,317 voters, Dharapuram (Reserved) 2,15,158, Kangayam 2,10,466, Madathukulam 2,06,878, and Tiruppur (South) 1,85,282 voters in the draft roll.
The Election Commission has opened the window for claims and objections from Friday until January 18, 2026. Special camps will be held on Saturdays and Sundays at all polling stations. The final electoral rolls will be published on February 17, 2026.
Voters have been advised to verify their names in the draft electoral rolls at the polling stations, the District Collector’s office, or through the Election Commission website. Eligible persons can submit Form 6 for inclusion of names, Form 7 for objections or deletion, Form 8 for correction of particulars or change of address, and Form 6B for linking Aadhaar with voter ID. These services are also available through the Voter Helpline mobile application.
56,091 voters removed in The Nilgiris
The draft electoral rolls released by the Nilgiris district administration on Friday detailed a total of 5,33,076 voters in the district, with 56,091 voters being deleted due to being untraceable, being enrolled in other places or due to being deceased.
According to the electoral rolls released by the district collector, a total of 2,54,759 voters in the district are male, 2,78,299 are female and 18 are third gender. According to the district administration, a total of 4,377 persons were involved in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise in the district.
