A total of 3.80 lakh voters have been removed from the voter list of Madurai district after the Special Intensive Revision. The draft electoral roll was published on Friday by Collector K.J. Praveen Kumar.
The 10 Assembly constituencies in Madurai district have a total of 23,60,157 voters of whom 12,01,319 were women; 11,58,601 were men and 237 transgenders. Women voters outnumber the male voters in all the 10 Assembly constituencies.
Melur has 2,20,931 voters, Madurai East has 3,16,225 voters, Sholavandan (SC) has 2,06,567 voters, Madurai North has 2,08,749 voters, Madurai South has 1,68,098 voters, Madurai Central has 1,87,249 voters, Madurai West has 2,54,927 voters, Thirupparankundram has 2,93,687 voters, Thirumangalam has 2,49,282 voters and Usilampatti has 2,54,442 voters. Women voters outnumber men in all the constituencies.
A total of 3,80,474 voters whose names have been removed from the voters list are that of 38,036 untraceable or absentees; 2,36,068 permanently shifted; 94,432 dead voters. A total of 11,336 already enrolled voters and 602 others were removed from the list.
Applications for addition, deletion, correction of names and change of address can be submitted till January 18, 2026. Claims and objections may be filed in Form 6 for inclusion, Form 7 for deletion and Form 8 for correction. Filled in forms can be handed over to booth‑level officers, revenue officials and election staff concerned.
