Possibility of resuming boating at Madiwala Lake to be examined

M. Maheshwar Rao, Chief Commissioner, Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA), has directed the officials to explore the possibility of developing Madiwala Lake into a tourist attraction.

Mr. Rao told the South City Corporation officials to examine the possibility of restarting boating at the lake, which was operational earlier.

Madiwala Lake is undergoing development at a cost of ₹15 crore, with works such as walking tracks, culverts, children’s play areas, streetlights, toilets, and bridge construction in progress. A bridge is proposed on the Madiwala Lake bund road to ease vehicular movement near the bus stand. Mr. Rao directed officials to expedite all works.
