Bhongir Member of Parliament Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy accused the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leaders, including former Minister T. Harish Rao, BRS president K. Chandrashekar Rao, and party working president K.T. Rama Rao of promoting an abusive political culture, yet blaming the Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy.
Responding to recent remarks by Mr. Harish Rao against Mr. Revanth Reddy, he said the former Minister’s behaviour resembled ‘demons chanting the Vedas’, alleging that Mr. Rao spoke about morality as if ethical standards applied only to political opponents. He advised Mr. Harish Rao to first reflect on Mr. Chandrashekar Rao’s own history of foul language.
“Mr. Chandrashekar Rao introduced abusive language into politics. He even holds the patent rights for it,” the MP remarked, adding that during the agitation period and later as Chief Minister, Mr. Chandrashekar Rao spoke without restraint or responsibility.
The Congress MP asserted that Chief Minister responds politically when Mr. Chandrashekar Rao speaks politically, but warned that if the BRS leaders resort to personal abuse, the CM is equally capable of responding in the same tone.
He also criticised Mr. Harish Rao for allegedly making violent and provocative remarks, including references to tying people to trees and unleashing thugs, while accusing him of pretending to be a scholar and moral preacher. Mr. Rama Rao also came under criticism, with the MP alleging that the former speaks without decorum and believes that no one other than himself understands IT or irrigation.
The MP called upon Mr. Harish Rao to first preach moral values to Mr. Chandrashekar Rao and Mr. Rama Rao before lecturing others. He urged Mr. Chandrashekar Rao to attend the Assembly and participate in debates on water issues, facts, and alleged irregularities and corruption during the BRS government’s ten-year rule.
