Minister for Tribal Welfare Gummadi Sandhya Rani on Saturday called upon people to undergo cancer screening to detect the disease at an early stage and lead a peaceful life with timely treatment.
She attended as the chief guest at the first anniversary celebrations of the Uppalapati Vijayasree Memorial Cancer Hospital, set up at Mangalampalem in Vizianagaram district in collaboration with the Sri Gurudeva Charitable Trust.
Addressing the gathering, the Minister said affordable treatment was the need of the hour for cancer patients in the district. She assured that health camps for early cancer detection would be organised and artificial limbs distributed with the support of the Trust.
Seer of Guru Mahasannidhanam Masilamani Desuka Gnana Sambandha Paramacharya Swamy, S. Kota MLA Kolla Lalita Kumari, Trust founder Raparthi Jagadish Babu and others were present.
