Tiruchi City Police detain over 100 accused under Goondas Act

The Tiruchi City Police has detained 102 accused, including 36 history sheeted rowdies involved in various types of crimes, under the Goondas Act in the current year. The accused were involved in cases including robbery thereby disturbing public peace and selling narcotic substances.

Several precautionary measures have been taken with a view to maintaining law and order in Tiruchi City. City Police Commissioner N. Kamini has given necessary instructions to field-level police officers to continuously initiate stern action as per law against anti-social elements indulging in unlawful activities and committing crimes against women. 

The action against rowdies and those indulging in robberies and other illegal acts would continue, a police press release said.
