Minister H.K. Patil and MLC Saleem Ahmed visited in Hubballi on Sunday members of a family injured in a recent attack that led to honour killing in Inam Veerapur village in Dharwad district.
They visited the patients undergoing treatment at the Vivekananda General Hospital. They spoke to doctors and the injured.
Mr. Ahmed told reporters that the incident is condemnable.
“The attack is unfortunate. As per information, eight accused people have been arrested. Such incidents should not repeat. The incident has become a big blur on society. Awareness has to be created against social evils like the discriminatory caste system,” he said.
He said that the State government is considering various measures like rehabilitation of the families displaced from Kogilu in Bengaluru. “It is a dumping yard and not fit for people to live. We will help in whatever manner possible,” he said.
