While many plan to visit the recently opened Victoria Public Hall, located between Chennai Central Railway Station and the Ripon Buildings, the Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) has closed the space temporarily.
“This was done as per State government orders. The reopening date will be announced soon,” said a senior official of the Special Projects Department of GCC.
Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on December 24, 2025, had inaugurated the restored Victoria Public Hall. The restoration was started in 2023 in a budget of ₹32.62 crore by the Chennai Corporation.
