Following the decision of territorial administration to recommend a probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation and National Investigation Agency into the illegal drug manufacturing case in the Union Territory, the Puducherry Police are in the process of sharing their initial findings in the case with the CBI very soon.

Last week, the office of Lieutenant Governor K Kailashnathan has announced the decision to transfer the case to CBI and NIA for further investigation based on the preliminary findings by the CB-CID and SIT.

“We will be sharing the case details with CBI in a few days. Probe details of two FIRs registered in the case by our police will be shared with CBI. A CBI team could reach Puducherry soon to gather details about the case,” said a police officer.

Around 26 accused persons, including main accused Raja alias Valliappan, have been arrested in the case and remanded to judicial custody. Cash and volumes of documents pertaining to illegal manufacturing of medicines have been seized by the Puducherry Police from the accused.
