The Puthencruz police arrested a 26-year-old inter-State worker in connection with an alleged theft at a garment store in Kolenchery.
The accused is Rashidul Islam, a native of Assam. The alleged incident occurred on December 24, 2025, after he allegedly broke into a clothing store at Kolenchery and stole around ₹1 lakh.
He went into hiding following the theft at an unoccupied house in Irumalappady, Kothamangalam, according to the police. A special squad apprehended him from the hideout following a tip-off.
