District health monitoring committee meeting held in Krishnagiri

District Mental Health Monitoring Committee meeting was convened here under Collector C. Dinesh Kumar on Friday.

The meeting assessed the functioning of all registered homes for the mentally ill in the district, along with the rehabilitation centres for the addicts; and the standard treatment protocols adopted in such centres. Further, the various schemes for persons in treatment facilities including integrated differently-abled cards, Aadhaar cards etc were discussed at the meeting.

The Collector also discussed the possibilities for the rescue of mentally ill persons from the streets, and their admission in these facilities, and further ways to restore them back to their families.
