Charities step in to serve devotees as rush swells at Arasavalli temple

Several charitable organisations served prasadam, food packets and water bottles to devotees at the Arasavalli Sri Suryanarayana Swamy temple on the occasion of Ratha Saptami. Their services proved to be a blessing for thousands of devotees who waited patiently for darshan amid an unprecedented turnout of pilgrims on Sunday. The SSR Charitable Trust, led by founder and industrialist Sura Srinivasa Rao, along with members of the organisation, served food to nearly 5,000 devotees.

Members of the Lions Club, including Natukula Mohana Rao and Badana Deva Bhusana Rao, participated in service activities near Indira Vignan Bhavan. Indian Red Cross Society chairman P. Jagan Mohana Rao and other members arranged vehicles for elderly devotees and tricycles for physically challenged persons to enable them to reach the temple from Mill Junction, located between the Old Bus Stand and the temple.

Meanwhile, MLC Duvvada Srinivas expressed displeasure over the reported poor arrangements for darshan of the presiding deity, Lord Sri Suryanarayana Swamy, on the day of Ratha Saptami. He alleged that even MLCs and other VIPs faced difficulties as only a single queue line was maintained before the main entrance of the temple.
