Chief Medical Officer, Dr E.N.V. Naresh Kumar has directed all meat, chicken, fish shops and slaughterhouses to be closed on Republic Day, January 26.
In a release issued on Sunday, he warned that strict action would be taken by the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) against meat shop owners or slaughterhouse operators who violate the orders by keeping their establishments open or selling meat, fish, or prawns on the day.
