MoU signed

Sadakathullah Appa College (Autonomous), Tirunelveli, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with GenLab IB, Hyderabad, with the aim of enhancing students’ technical competence, industry exposure and employability in emerging technology domains.

The MoU was formally exchanged in the presence of S.M. Abdul Kader, principal, R. Janet Rani, vice-principal (unaided courses), Mohamed Riyazudeen, head (in-charge), Department of Computer Science (aided), and Henrich P, founder of GenLab IB.

In addition to the training and placement services, the MoU also focuses on startup initiatives, including innovation mentoring, product ideation support, entrepreneurial guidance and exposure to startup ecosystems, thereby encouraging students to pursue entrepreneurship and innovation driven careers.

Training

ICAR-Bioconversion Technology Centre (AICRP on EAAI), Sri Parasakthi College for Women (SPCW), Courtallam organised a training and demonstration on “Renewable Energy Technologies in Agriculture” under ICAR-SCSP scheme. The farmers in and around the Tenkasi district participated in the training.

The welcome address was delivered by G. Saravanapriya, research engineer & head, ICAR-Bioconversion Technology Research Centre, SPCW.

S. Amirthavalli, principal, presided over the event. She emphasised the importance of renewable energy technologies in household and agriculture applications. She encouraged farmers to install renewable energy technology in their locality.

Initiation

The 16th lamp lighting ceremony of B.Sc Nursing (2025-2029) batch conducted at the CET College of Nursing,. Thidal, Kanniyakumari district. The ceremony marked the formal initiation of nursing students into the noble profession of healthcare. The programme began with lighting of lamps symbolising knowledge, compassion and dedication.

NCC honour

Student SGT R. Sasikumar, an NCC cadet from National Engineering College, Kovilpatti, has been selected to participate in the Republic Day parade in New Delhi. He was selected to represent the 9 (TN) Signal Company, Tirunelveli, National Cadet Corps.

K. Kalidas Murugavel, principal, stated that this prestigious opportunity was earned due to Sasikumar’s perseverance, discipline, leadership qualities and outstanding performance.

Mr. Murugavel also extended his wishes to Sasikumar’s future to achieve national-level achievements.
