A pawnshop near Tiruvallur was burgled after miscreants drilled a hole in its rear wall and decamped with gold jewellery, silver articles, and cash.
Police said Butharam, 46, owns the pawnshop. On Tuesday morning, he received a call saying that the rear wall of his pawnshop had been broken.
Butharam rushed to the spot and upon inspection, found that four sovereigns of gold jewellery, 176 grams of silver articles, and ₹20,000 in cash were missing.
On receiving a complaint from him, Pullarambakkam police registered a case. A probe is under way.
