A gynaecologist and her son were found dead at their residence in Shivamogga on December 5. It is suspected to be a case of suicide.
Dr. Jayashree, 57, who was running Hommaradi Hospital in Gandhi Nagar, was found dead in a room on the ground floor of her house. Her son Aakash, 34, was found dead on the first floor. Akash had his second marriage earlier in May this year. His first wife died by suicide one and a half years ago.
Vinoba Nagar Police received information about the death the same afternoon. The police suspected that the two ended their lives late at night on December 4. The rooms where Jayashree and her son were staying remained locked until the afternoon of December 5. Jayashree’s daughter-in-law, who was also in the same house but in a different room, informed the police about the incident. The police are said to have found a letter.
