The Andhra Pradesh government will host a three-day national cultural and literary festival for tribal students under the Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS), marking a first-of-its-kind event in the State.
Tribal Welfare Minister Gummidi Sandhya Rani announced the arrangements at a review meeting with senior officials at the Secretariat on Tuesday. The festival, titled Udbhav-2025, will be held from December 3 to 5 at KL University in Amaravati.
A total of 1,644 students from 405 EMRS institutions across 22 States will take part in the event, along with 278 officials, teachers, guardians and contingent managers. The festival aims to highlight India’s cultural and tribal diversity through music, literature, dance, theatre arts and other creative competitions. Ms. Sandhya Rani said that 110 students from 28 EMRS schools in the State were set to showcase their talent at the national stage.
The Minister said special committees had been formed to oversee competitions, hospitality, protocol, awards, transport, accommodation, publicity and registration to ensure smooth conduct of the festival. She emphasised that the event would help bring out the creativity of tribal children, overcome fear and hesitation, and promote national integration. The State would organise the festival in line with Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s directions, she added, unveiling the official poster and logo of Udbhav-2025.
