Aaditya Thackeray on Monday (November 24, 2025) met the State Election Commission officials, and handed over a letter from Uddhav Thackeray and Raj Thackeray to the CEO.
“People are desperately waiting to cast their votes. Draft voters’ list has been postponed from November 7 to two weeks later. The list which has come out now, is not machine-readable. Wards have been shuffled depending on the strength of the BJP. Why is the summary different from the actual list? Is this democracy? This is sedition. This should not happen in free and fair elections,” he says after meeting the electoral officer.
He claimed that there are bigger problems.
“In BMC, 26,319 houses where more than 10 people live in each house. There are 8,32,326 living in such houses. Duplicate voters, voters with no EPIC number, voters without house numbers are in large numbers. One person should have one vote.”
He demanded that they should be given 21 days for raising objections and suggestions on draft voters’ lists.
“How are we supposed to take individual objections? Allow political parties to raise objections in bulk,” he said, claiming that the electoral officer gave an in-principle approval for it.
He demanded that the annexure for voters should change to make it one-time.
