After the mega success of Thudarum, Malayalam director Tharun Moorthy is joining hands with Mohanlal for a new project produced by Ashiq Usman.

As details about the cast of this untitled movie is awaited, Tharun has shared that it has Shaji Kumar, the DOP of Thudarum, on board and is written by Retheesh Ravi. The announcement has raised a question as to whether Tharun has replaced actor Dan Austin Thomas who was meant to make his directorial debut with a Mohanlal project, written by Retheesh and produced by Ashiq.

A social media post announcing this project was shared in July this year. At the same time Ashiq has shared with a vernacular media that this is a new project with a fresh story by Retheesh.

Ashiq, who has produced movies such as Thallumala, Anjaam Pathira, Dear Friend, Adios Amigo etc, is also producing Tharun’s upcoming project, Torpedo, starring Fahadh Faasil, Naslen Gafoor, Arjun Das and Ganapathi.
