‘AI must be used responsibly in medical care’

Artificial Intelligence can be used to provide enhanced services in the field of medical and healthcare. But keeping in mind the possible harms of AI, medical practitioners must use it responsibly, Justice Ujjal Bhuyan said on Sunday.

Speaking at the CMA Global Conference 2025 on AI in Healthcare & Medicine here, he said new age technologies could increase efficiency and provide better services, but users must exercise caution to prevent misuse.

The two-day conference, organised by Indian Medical Association, Banjara Hills, saw experts from a wide range, and discussed ways to transform care in the age of AI.

CMA president J.A. Jayalal said that hundreds of doctors in the country have already been trained by experts to use AI in their service.

Experts at the conference expressed confidence that the deliberated ideas would contribute to the State’s vision of a ‘Rising Telangana’.

The event also saw the presentation of certificates of fellowship to about 750 doctors who underwent the Commonwealth AI and Digital Health course.

Prabhu Kumar Challagali, Vajira H.W. Dissanayake and other experts were present.
