Airport Advisory Committee meeting reviews progress of Mysuru Airport development

The Airport Advisory Committee (AAC) meeting to review the development of Mysuru Airport was held at the Airport Community Hall on November 28.

Chaired by Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar, Mysuru MP and AAC chairman, the meeting was hosted by P.V. Usha Kumari, airport director and AAC convener. It was attended by G.T. Deve Gowda, Chamundeshwari MLA, and senior officials from the Mysuru City Corporation, Police Department, Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Limited, Mysuru division of South Western Railway, Irrigation Department, National Highways Authority of India, Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board, and other stakeholder agencies.

The airport director briefed the committee on recent initiatives aimed at improving passenger services and strengthening airport infrastructure.

The meeting featured detailed discussions on key issues such as the diversion of the national highway, shifting of 66 kV power lines, and irrigation-related works connected to the proposed runway expansion.

Both Mr. Wadiyar and Mr. Gowda urged all departments to fast-track pending works to facilitate timely completion of the runway expansion project.

AAC members also put forth suggestions to enhance passenger amenities and operational efficiency. The airport director assured the committee that all feasible recommendations would be evaluated and implemented in a time-bound manner.
