In the wake of blast near Red Fort in Delhi, the Mysuru City Police have intensified security measures in the city as a safety and precautionary measure.
A total of 10 check-posts have been established at the entry and exit points of Mysuru. The armed police, civil police, and traffic personnel have been deployed to inspect vehicles and verify the identity of individuals entering the city.
Security has been tightened at Mysore palace, Chamundi Hill Temple, and Exhibition Grounds. Additional door frame metal detectors (DFMDs) and separate frisking points for men and women have been installed to ensure safety, a press release from police commissioner’s office said.
Bus stands, railway stations, bus depots, shopping complexes and malls are being subjected to frequent Anti-Sabotage (AS) checks to detect any suspicious objects or activities.
All hotels, lodges, homestays and dormitories within the city police station limits are being checked. Details of new occupants are being verified and the purpose of their visit is being cross-checked.
Social media monitoring has been intensified. Derogatory posts are being monitored and the police have warned of strict action against individuals posting any such posts. “These security measures are precautionary and are being implemented to safeguard the city from any unforeseen incidents and maintain peace in the city.”
