Alprazolam peddler held in Chandanagar, two others absconding

A 38-year-old man was nabbed by the Chandanagar Police and the Special Operations Team (SOT) of Madhapur for allegedly supplying Alprazolam for toddy adulteration. Officers seized 1,170 grams of the substance during the operation.

The accused was identified as Goundla Bala Murali Krishna of Vemana Reddy Colony in Chandanagar. Two other suspects, Ravi Teja and Sai Sudhakar, are absconding.

DCP Madhapur Ritiraj said Murali Krishna was caught at his residence following a tip-off. ā€œHe allegedly ran a toddy shop at Doulatabad village in Hathnoora mandal of Medak along with Sudhakar and others. During questioning, he admitted to procuring Alprazolam from Ravi Teja of Podichanpally village in Papannapet mandal for ₹3 lakh per kilogram. A car and a mobile phone were seized from him,ā€ said the officer.
