The Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board presents the awards to those that encourage the use of alternatives to single-use plastics.

The Chennai District Collectorate has invited applications for the Manjappai Awards given by the Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board (TNPCB). The awards will be given to three schools, three colleges, and three commercial establishments, which have made exemplary contributions towards encouraging the use of alternatives to single-use plastics and the implementation of their ban through creative initiatives on and outside their campuses, make them plastic-free. The first prize will carry a sum of ₹10 lakh, second prize ₹5 lakh, and third prize ₹3 lakh. The application formats are available on the District Collectorate and TNPCB website. The last date of submission is January 15, 2026.
