The Association of Indian Universities (AIU) and Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth (SBV) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding for the establishment of Academic and Administrative Development Centre (AIU-SBV DU AADC) that fosters capacity augmentation and continuous faculty development.
A press note said that SBV was the first in the Union Territory to be chosen by Association of Indian Universities for establishing such a facility that would take forward the National Education Policy thrust on access, equity, quality, affordability, and accountability, which together were aimed at enhancing the Gross Enrolment Ratio among learners across the country.
The inaugural event of AIU-SBV DU AADC was attended by M.K. Rajagopalan, Chancellor of SBV, Pankaj Mittal, AIU Secretary General and Ranjana Parihar, Joint Secretary.
Shivasakthy Manivasakan, Director of the Institute of Health Professions Education and Nodal Officer, AADC, Prashanth Rajagopalan and Urjitha Rajagopalan, SBV Pro-Chancellors, Joseph Naresh, Deputy Registrar also participated.
Addressing a five-day online workshop on ‘Digital Age Administrators Training’ held in connection with the inking of the MoU, Nihar Ranjan Biswas, SBV Vice-Chancellor, tasked the SBV with utilising the new facility fully for enhancing academic and administrative excellence through capacity building, pedagogical principles, technology integration, and compliance with the NEP.
A. R. Srinivasan, Registrar, SBV provided an overview of the scope of the MoU. Asha K, Director, Administration, presented succinctly the theme of the inaugural workshop and its objectives.
Ranjana Parihar, Joint Secretary, AIU said the objectives of the Association in establishing such centres across the country, included promoting capacity building among teaching faculties, non-teaching staff, and administrators so that they get acquainted with recent developments, policies and technology essentials.
Three more workshops as approved by the Association of Indian Universities on ‘Harnessing AI for Academic Excellence and Research Innovation’, ‘Technology enhanced Competency Based Medical Education’ and ‘Technology assisted Research Methodology Training’ are on the anvil and will be hosted in the first week of January, February and March 2026 respectively.
