The police have registered a case against a group of identifiable persons who reportedly stormed the venue of an acupuncture awareness camp at Kuttiyadi on Saturday (November 8) and allegedly unleashed an attack on the organisers, including a woman.

The suspects reportedly barged into the venue, claiming that a woman from Kuttiyadi had died due to faulty acupuncture treatment. Sources in the Kuttiyadi police station said the attackers included relatives of the deceased. The case was registered on a petition by one of the camp organisers who allegedly sustained injuries in the incident.

Meanwhile, one of the protesters said he had already filed a petition against acupuncture treatment promoters in the village. He alleged that the police registered the case without checking complaints against a few local acupuncture practitioners.
