Auto torched, lorry driver attacked in Annamayya district

Two incidents of tension were reported in Annamayya district on Saturday.

In Valmikipuram, a quarrel between an auto driver and a local resident escalated, with the resident allegedly setting the auto-rickshaw on fire in anger. The vehicle was completely gutted. Valmikipuram police visited the spot, registered a case, and began further investigation.

In another incident, tension flared at the Madanapalle market yard after a lorry driver, Amzad, who had delivered onions from Jharkhand, was allegedly attacked by market coordinator Masood. The episode led to protests by the local lorry drivers union. The Madanapalle II Town police reached the scene, brought the situation under control, and assured the lorry operators of an inquiry.
