Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president Mahesh Kumar Goud said that several senior leaders who currently hold prominent positions in the Congress had once worked in the NSUI and the Youth Congress, and added that the present day young generation in the NSUI and Youth Congress also have a bright future in the party.
Addressing the executive committee meeting of the State Youth Congress, held at Indira Bhavan, under the chairmanship of State Youth Congress president Shiva Charan Reddy, he emphasised that recognition in politics comes only when youth leaders work actively at the ground level.
“When you work in the villages, you understand the pulse of the people,” he noted.
Mr. Goud called upon Youth Congress members to contest in large numbers at the sarpanch level and also participate actively in MPP and ZPTC elections. He pointed out that many leaders who began their journey in the Youth Congress had risen to become corporation chairpersons and DCC presidents.
Stating that the Youth Congress represents the future of the party, he said “Quality leadership emerges only when young leaders like you remain in the organisation.” He cautioned against “jumping politics,” saying it may offer short-term gains but cannot sustain a long-term political career.
Highlighting Mr. Rahul Gandhi’s strong support for NSUI and the Youth Congress, the PCC president encouraged the members to stay committed and work harder, and they will get their due.
