A financial awareness programme on safe banking habits for senior citizens was jointly organised by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), Thiruvananthapuram, and the Kerala Police here on Wednesday.
S. Sateesh Bino, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Ernakulam Range, inaugurated the programme titled ‘Joint Awareness for Guarding Retirees Against Cyber-Threats and Handling Accounts’.
Juvvanapudi Mahesh, Deputy Commissioner of Police; Thomas Mathew, Regional Director for Kerala and Lakshadweep, RBI, Thiruvananthapuram; and Mohammed Sajid P.K., General Manager, RBI, Thiruvananthapuram, attended, according to a communication.
The programme covered the modus operandi of various cyber frauds, preventive strategies, safe banking practices, and the grievance redressal mechanisms available in banks, the communication said.
