Dr. Mohan’s Diabetes Specialities Centre, Madras Diabetes Research Foundation (MDRF) and the Hinduja Foundation organised a rally at Besant Nagar on Saturday to raise awareness about Type 1 diabetes and to commemorate World Diabetes Day (that falls on November 14).

From doctors, patients to members of public, several people participated in the event to spread the message ‘Type 1 diabetes is not a limitation, it’s a journey of strength, awareness, and hope’, according to a press release.

Care and support

V. Mohan, chairman of Dr. Mohan’s Diabetes Specialities Centre and MDRF, said “Through this rally, we want to tell every child and adult living with Type 1 diabetes that they are not alone. With proper care, education, and community support, they can lead perfectly normal and successful lives.”

Assistant Commissioner of Police M.S.M. Vallawan was also present.
