Minister for Minorities Welfare Mohammed Azharuddin and other officials on Saturday met students of the Telangana Minorities Residential Educational Institution Society (TGMREIS) at hospital, and interacted with doctors.
According to sources, the students were from TGMREIS’ Musheerabad Girls School, which has a total over 400 students. As many as 24 students had fallen ill after consuming food in the school.
According to sources, staff of the school, including principal and warden were suspended. They said that there was an inordinate delay in informing the head office.
The head office is closely monitoring the situation, sources said. Efforts will be undertaken so as to ensure that such incidents do not happen again, said sources.
