A 10-day-old infant was received in the Ammathottil electronic cradle of the Kerala State Council for Child Welfare here on Friday night.
The baby boy, weighing 2.13 kg, was found around 10.50 p.m. After preliminary examination at the council, the infant was taken to Women and Children Hospital, Thycaud, for a detailed examination and was found healthy.
The boy was named Bhim after B.R. Ambedkar, the architect of India’s Constitution, whose death anniversary was on Friday.
It is after a gap of 17 days that a baby has been left behind in the electronic cradle.
Since his adoption procedures have to be initiated, any kin of the infant should contact the council at the earliest, a statement here on Saturday said.
