Baby drowns in bucket of water, dies near Srivilliputtur

Accidental fall into a bucket of water claimed the life of a two-year-old baby girl near Nathampatti on Wednesday.

The police said that the victim, Keerthiga, daughter of Sureshkumar of Moovaraivendran, had gone to the bathroom and fell into the bucket. When her mother noticed this, she rushed the baby to the Primary Health Centre at Nathampatti.

After first-aid, the baby was referred to Government Hospital at Srivilliputtur where she was declared brought dead.

The Nathampatti police are investigating.
