The Karnataka State Commission for Backward Classes, which conducted the Social and Educational Survey-2025 during September-October to collect family-level data, has sought additional information from caste-based organisations to make its forthcoming report comprehensive.

The commission, in a communique, has invited such organisations to share details about their respective communities.

Submissions should include name and nature of the organisation (registered society/trust), historical background, cultural and religious practices (naming ceremony, ‘upanayana’, wedding, ‘seemanta’, death rituals etc.,), social status, instances of exploitation or discrimination, educational profile, representation in professional courses (medical, engineering, management), institutions run by the community and details of professional colleges, if any. They can also provide employment data in government/public sector (Group A–D), reservation status and suggestions for inclusion or changes with justification.

Documents and views may be presented on December 15-16 at Devaraja Urs Bhavan Auditorium, between 10.30 a.m. and 5.30 p.m., before the commission, according to the communique.
