Namma Metro users have raised concerns over recurring issues with the National Common Mobility Card (NCMC), reporting failed transactions and difficulties recharging their cards over the past few days.

Several passengers took to social media to highlight the problem, saying the system has been unreliable despite repeated attempts.

Raghu S., a regular commuter, said, “This card barely functions most of the time. I honestly don’t understand what the problem is. The service has been disappointing, and for over a week now, the metro stations still haven’t been able to recharge cards because of ongoing issues.”

Responding to the complaints, a senior official from the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) acknowledged the disruptions. The official said, “We are facing occasional disruptions in the NCMC recharge because of a software glitch. Our technical team is currently working to resolve the problem.”

The BMRCL, along with RBL Bank, introduced the NCMC on March 25, 2023, during the launch of the Whitefield–Krishnarajapura corridor. The initiative, promoted as the ‘One Nation–One Card’, aims to enable seamless mobility payments nationwide.

During the inauguration, Prime Minister Narendra Modi became the first commuter in Bengaluru to use the card.
