
Delegates from 19 member countries, including Russia, Iran, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Palestine, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Australia, took part in the Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA) on Social and Cultural Affairs held in Moscow, Russia.

Bengaluru Rural MP and cardiologist C N Manjunath participated in the Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA) on Social and Cultural Affairs held in Moscow, Russia, from October 28 to 30.
Delegates from 19 member countries, including Russia, Iran, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Palestine, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Australia, took part in the Assembly, which discussed and adopted 14 key resolutions. The resolutions focused on the protection and preservation of cultural heritage, prevention of illegal drug trafficking, promotion of health equity, human development, tourism cooperation, and the empowerment of women, children, and youth across Asia.
On the sidelines of the meeting, the Indian Parliamentary delegation held bilateral discussions with Russian Members of Parliament on matters of mutual interest, aimed at strengthening the long-standing ties between the two nations.
The delegation also paid floral tribute to the statue of Mahatma Gandhi in Moscow, a symbol of peace and non-violence. Dr Manjunath observed that India continues to share deep warmth and friendship with the people of Russia.
The Indian delegation was led by Rajkumar Chahar, MP from Fatehpur Sikri, Uttar Pradesh, and included Shivadasan, MP from Kerala.
