Voting for the first phase of the Bihar Assembly elections 2025 is underway across 121 constituencies in 18 districts.

In the first phase, a total of 3.75 crore voters will decide the electoral fate of 1,314 candidates, including top leaders such as Tejashwi Yadav and Deputy CM Samrat Choudhary of the BJP.
On September 30, 2025, the Election Commission had released the final electoral rolls for the State, listing nearly 7.42 crore voters following the completion of a special intensive revision (SIR).

Prior to the revision, the State had 7.89 crore voters as of June 24, 2025. When the draft list was published on August 1, 2025, it contained 7.24 crore names, with 65 lakh entries removed. In the final list, 21.53 lakh new names were added and 3.66 lakh were deleted, the Commission said in a press statement.
According to data released earlier by the ECI, the Digha Assembly seat in Patna district has the highest number of electors (over 4.56 lakh) in phase 1 of the polls, followed by Kumhrar with over 4.3 lakh voters. As many as 1.98 crore male and 1.76 crore female voters are expected to cast their votes today (November 6, 2025).
Polling will conclude at 6 p.m., though in some constituencies, voting hours have been curtailed to 5 p.m. due to security considerations. The remaining 122 constituencies will vote in the second phase on November 11, 2025. Counting will take place on November 14.
