Bihar Assembly Polls 2025: Phase 2 constituencies and electors

In the second phase, 122 constituencies are going to polls with an electorate of around 3.6 crore people. This phase includes the whole of Seemanchal region in the State. The region is made of 24 constituencies, with 9.7% of the State’s voters coming from this region.

Issues for the people from this region include poverty, migration and floods. Resided predominantly by Muslims, the region is also known for its makhana crop. Infiltration from Bangladesh has also been brought up in the run-up to the polls, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi hitting out against the Congress for letting in “infiltrators.”

Besides Seemanchal, 19 of 38 constituencies reserved for the Scheduled Castes is up for polls in the second phase. The two constituencies reserved for Scheduled Tribes, one of which is in Seemanchal, are also going to the polls.

In phase 2 constituencies, 3.9 crore men and close to 3.5 crore women are eligible to vote, with women’s turnout being higher than men’s in the past couple elections. In an effort to appeal to the women voter base, the NDA has announced schemes targeting women beneficiaries with other schemes announced by the RJD and Congress.
