Superintendent of Police Vikrant Patil on Monday (November 24, 2025) led a motorcycle and auto rally in the city to create awareness on road safety and use of helmets by motorists.
Mr. Vikrant Patil rode a two-wheeler from the District Police Office to ‘C’ Camp Centre passing through Control Room, Raj Vihar Centre, and the Collectorate. Speaking to the media after launching the rally, Mr. Patil said that they have launched videos to create awareness about road safety measures and the manner in which road accidents happen. “The videos depict how a motorists life can be saved, if he or she wears a helmet,” the SP said.
On the occasion, Mr. Vikrant Patil said that they are creating awareness on the need to wear an ISI-mark helmet. “If a motorist is caught driving without a helmet, rather than penalising them, counselling would be given. The motorists will be given time to purchase a helmet,” he said, adding that they want to take all possible steps to reduce the number of accidents.
