Bike destroyed in petrol bomb attack

A bike was destroyed as unidentified persons hurled Molotov cocktail on Saturday early morning.

Unidentified persons lobbed petrol bomb on the bike of Balamurugan, 30, of Ambalavanapuram under Vickramasingapuram police station limits even as the two-wheeler was parked in front of his house in the early hours of Saturday. Even before Mr. Balamurugan and others, who woke up after hearing the blast, could douse the flame, the bike was destroyed.

On getting information, the Vickramasingapuram police visited the spot. During investigation, police found that Balamurugan’s younger brother, Madhan, 21, who works at a private mill there, had filed complaints against a few persons from the same area.

Hence, the police suspect that Madhan’s enemies might have lobbed the Molotov cocktail in a bid to threaten him.
