The BJP Tamil Nadu president Nainar Nagenthran said in Namakkal on Tuesday that BJP has taken a vow to make AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami the next Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.

Mr. Nagenthran, as part of his Statewide yatra, campaigned in Namakkal on Tuesday.

At the campaign, he said the BJP government gave 11 medical colleges to Tamil Nadu, including one to Namakkal district, while Mr. Palaniswami was the Chief Minister. Whereas, the DMK has not fulfilled any of the promises it made to the people of the district.

Alleging that under the DMK government drugs were readily available near educational institutions in Tamil Nadu, he said two days ago, a young woman was gang-raped in Coimbatore by three persons who were allegedly under the influence of ganja.

Earlier, speaking to reporters at Salem airport, Mr. Nagenthran alleged that the DMK government was anti-people. People are suffering due increase in various taxes and power tariffs. He alleged that the DMK was afraid of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, because there were 9,000 extra voters in Kolathur Assembly Constituency. The SIR has already been done nine times during the Congress regime. If they (DMK) are honest, why are they moving the court against SIR, he questioned.
