AICC in-charge for Telangana Meenakshi Natarajan and Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president B. Mahesh Kumar Goud slammed the BJP for its alleged irregularities, claiming that the party is “murdering democracy” in the country.

Speaking at a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan here on Saturday, Ms Natarajan praised Rahul Gandhi’s relentless fight against vote theft, saying over 5 crore people have supported the Congress’s signature collection campaign against the vote theft.

She alleged that the BJP is engaged in vote theft in various States, including Haryana, Maharashtra, and Karnataka, and that the Election Commission of India (ECI) is acting unilaterally, and in favour of the BJP. She cited examples of alleged irregularities, including 25 lakh fake voters in Haryana, 5 lakh duplicate voters, and incorrect addresses and photo details of voters.

“The Election Commission is in the hands of the BJP, and Rahul Gandhi has proven this with evidence,” Mr. Goud said, adding that the BJP is trying to win in Bihar using the “Haryana formula” and criticised the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), accusing it of winning the Jubilee Hills seat by allegedly registering voters from neighbouring districts and taking support from the BJP.

Mr. Mahesh Kumar emphasised that vote theft is a threat to democracy and called on people to understand the alleged irregularities in Haryana, Maharashtra, and Karnataka. He said former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi had never committed any irregularities and that no one has the right to take away the right to vote.
