The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has extended an open invitation to Thrissur Mayor M.K. Varghese, expressing readiness to welcome him to the party and offer him due recognition.
The invitation comes shortly after Mr. Varghese announced that he would neither contest the upcoming elections nor campaign for the Left Democratic Front. He also stated that he was open to working with those who shared his vision.
BJP Thrissur city district president Justin Jacob said the party’s doors were open to the Mayor, describing him as someone who appreciated Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s development vision. “For five years, the LDF kept the Mayor restrained. If he chooses to join the BJP, we will discuss with party leaders and ensure that he receives the respect and consideration he deserves,” Mr. Jacob said. The BJP is the party that can help him realise his development dreams,” Mr. Jacob added.
