The BJP will move a no-confidence motion against the State government led by Siddaramaiah in the next month’s Belagavi session, State General Secretary of the BJP and former minister V. Sunil Kumar said on Thursday (November 27, 2025).
If the Congress government falls in the State, the BJP will not stake claim to form the government, he said.
‘Administration affected’
Speaking to media in Udupi, the Karkala MLA said that in the fight between Mr. Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar over change of leadership, the administration in the State had come to a standstill since past two months.
“About 90% of ministers are not coming to their offices at the Vidhana Soudha in Bengaluru,” Mr. Kumar claimed. “If Mr. Siddaramaiah has restricted his activities to Mysuru, Mr. Shivakumar has confined himself to Delhi,” the former minister said.
“This government has lost confidence. There is no trust between the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister and ministers and MLAs,” he said. “We will expose the Congress government in the Belagavi session and move a no-confidence motion against the government,” the Karkala MLA added.
The former minister said that the BJP would discuss the matter relating to moving the no-confidence motion against the government with its NDA partners.

‘Kharge sidelined’
Referring to statements of Congress leaders over change of leadership, Mr. Kumar said that both the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister have created confusion in the minds of people in the State. “Even Mallikarjuna Kharge, president of the All India Congress Committee (AICC) is pointing fingers at Congress high command. Mr. Kharge has been sidelined in the Congress,” he said.
The former minister said that the BJP is waiting to see the Congress government fall on its own.
Regarding Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Sri Krishna Mutt in Udupi on November 28, he said a road show would be conducted around noon. People will gather for the road show from 9.30 a.m., he said.
