PMK president Anbumani Ramadoss on Saturday said that he was shocked to hear that 85,000 candidates from a total of 2.36 lakh candidates, who appeared for the PG graduate Teachers recruitment exams to recruit 1996 candidates, have failed in the compulsory Tamil language paper and said that it was a direct consequence of the education system created by the rulers of Tamil Nadu.
In a statement, he said that large number of candidates who appeared in last year’s competitive exams for Graduate Teachers and Secondary Grade Teachers had also failed the Tamil language paper. “Those who appear for this PG teachers’ recruitment exam are not regular candidates. They hold at least three degrees — an undergraduate degree, a postgraduate degree, and a Bachelor of Education degree. Many also hold M.Phil and even PhD degrees. Yet the compulsory Tamil paper is only of Class 10 level,” he said, wondering how poor the education system is in Tamil Nadu.
