YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) State coordinator Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy has claimed that the “people’s movement opposing privatisation of government medical colleges has transformed into an unprecedented public uprising.”

On Friday, he addressed a Zoom conference with the party leaders, and reviewed the nationwide signature campaign launched to safeguard the government medical institutions.

Mr. Ramakrishna Reddy said over one crore signatures had been collected in one week and the numbers were growing rapidly. He announced that constituency-level submissions would take place on December 10, followed by district-level programmes on December 13, culminating in the final representation to the Governor on December 16.

He said the initiative had set a new benchmark for public mobilisation and democratic participation, and urged leaders to ensure that December 13 becomes a massive Statewide show of strength, with every district rally drawing more than 10,000 cadres.
