The 20th National Triennial Conference of the Canara Bank Officers Association, which began on November 8, concluded on Monday.
Canara Bank Managing Director and CEO K Satyanarayana Raju, who attended the inaugural function as the chief guest, praised the role of Canara Bank Officers Association in the development of Canara Bank.
At this event, the association released a book titled “The Master Stitch”, which chronicles the life of Satyanarayana Raju, through the hands of his mother, Rama Seetha. He said that his mother’s efforts to educate him made him achieve the top position in the bank.
General Secretary K Ravikumar said that the unity of bank officers across the country is their strength and that strength has made them the second largest trade union in the country. Solving the problems of bank officers is the goal and unity is the way.
On the second day, representatives from various States participated in extensive discussions. They said that they would discuss the resolutions, passed at the conference, with the bank management and strive to achieve them.
The delegates said they were strongly opposed to the privatisation of public sector banks.
On the last day, the treasurer’s report was presented. He explained all the welfare schemes and programs undertaken for the members in these three years.
The new national executive committee was elected. Mr. K. Ravikumar was re-elected as the general secretary for the third time. Rajiv Nigam was elected President, and Jacob the Chairman.
