Carnatic musician Nithyasree Mahadevan was honoured with the title ‘Bharat Sangeet Samrat’ at the inauguration of Bharat Sangeet Utsav 2025 on Saturday.

Cleveland V.V. Sundaram said in the past 25-30 years, Ms. Mahadevan’s contribution to Carnatic music has been phenomenal. Her unique and incredible voice and her clear diction are her assets and she has carved a niche for herself with her hard work.

The Bharat Sangeet Utsav organised by Carnatica and Sri Parthasarathy Swami Sabha will be held for nine days. M. Krishnamurthy, secretary of Sri Parthasarathy Swami Sabha, spoke.
