Cash scheme for Adi Dravidar/ST families for Pongal

The Adi Dravidar and Scheduled Tribe Welfare Department has started accepting applications from families of Adi Dravidar and Scheduled Tribe communities for cash assistance in lieu of free dhoti and saree during the upcoming Pongal festival.

Accordingly, ahead of Pongal festival (January 14, 2026), the Adi Dravidar and ST families, and members who have not yet applied for the benefit, and have completed 18 years of age, were requested to obtain applications and submit copies of relevant documents by December 10 to avail the benefits under the scheme, a press note said.
