Chengalpattu district administration retrieves land by sealing hotel premises in Alandur

The revenue officials of the Chengalpattu district sealed a private hotel located on GST Road in Alandur as it was functioning on the revenue land belonging to the St. Thomas Mount Union.

A senior official of the Revenue department said a private hotel had taken on lease the government land bearing Survey No. 146/2 and measuring 15 grounds located at the junction of MK Road and GST Road in Alandur. The lease period of the hotel had expired recently but the hotelier refused to vacate for which the Chengalpattu district administration approached the Alandur Judicial Court seeking direction to evict the hotel from the premises.

The judicial magistrate gave the verdict in favour of the Revenue department and the revenue officials on Tuesday sealed the two entrances to the hotel, he said.
